Buffalo (Wild Card Weekend)
What will it take? What will it take for anyone to start understanding this team is good? What will it take for anyone to stop disrespecting the Pittsburgh Steelers? There were people in the National Media, local media, and fanbase that wrote this team off after their loss to San Francisco. Many of those same people wrote this team off when they WON the next week against Cleveland. Even more people wrote them off after losses to Houston (playoff team), Cleveland (playoff team), Jacksonville, New England, Arizona, Indianapolis. A very small minority gave this team any credit for wins against Los Angeles (playoff team), Baltimore (AFC and NFL # 1 seed) twice, Green Bay (playoff team), or Cincinnati (riding a 3 game win streak and were “in” playoffs at that time). This team has battled a tremendous amount of key injuries on both sides of the ball, only to keep fighting and gain entry to the Playoffs. If the Steelers go to Buffalo and win, will this change some minds? If the Steelers were to beat Buffalo and beat Baltimore for a 3rd time (second in their stadium), will this change some minds? The answer to some, is “no.” There are those that mask their “assessment” of the Steelers with their dislike of the Steelers and their coach. To those I say, “we do not care.” Those of us that have watched every snap this season, every drive, every touchdown, every yard know. This team won’t give up. This team will probably never pass your “eye test.” However, this team will fight and the disrespect only fuels them.
There will be more to come this week after Tomlin press conference, review of All-22 film from last week, review of Buffalo All-22 film, and Wednesday-Friday injury reports.
Initial thoughts: I took the Steelers getting 10 points on FanDuel. I think they have a great chance of winning this game on Sunday. Throughout the week I will provide my reasons why on here and the podcast.
Go Steelers!
