Baltimore (Final Thoughts)

The Baltimore Ravens, national media, local media, social media warriors, and anyone else can make excuses and caveats about the Steelers victory on Saturday in Baltimore. We do not care. The Steelers utilized their 3rd string QB, 5th and 6th level ILBs, 3rd and 4th string safeties, and 3rd string corners. The Steelers and Ravens are both NFL teams with NFL paid players. The Steelers had more heart, more grit, and more desire to win that game. Although the outcome on the scoreboard or record didn’t “matter” to the Ravens, it mattered to the Steelers and Steeler Nation. That is the difference that I think a lot of people lose sight of throughout the ups and downs of the Steelers season. Every game matters. Every win is important and that mentality goes a lot further than people think. Mike Tomlin sets the tone in that locker room; and that very tone should be what we in Steeler Nation understand more often. The Steelers play to win. The Steelers never give up. The Steelers always find a way to be in the conversation and will fight to make noise every season. I promise you that this “standard” will not be present in any future coach that ever walks the sidelines for the Black and Gold. I am proud of this team for how they finished the regular season. I am proud of how this team beat Baltimore (twice) when it was all on the line. I am proud of this team for never letting me give up. All of you in Steeler Nation should be too.
